Slate OR analyzes the shape of appointments — procedure type, duration, time, day of week — not the patients themselves. Customer practices send only de-identified appointment metadata. Your patients' names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, and contact information never leave your EHR.
Because we don't receive PHI, Slate OR is not a Business Associate under HIPAA, and a Business Associate Agreement is not required to use the service. The data is de-identified under the HIPAA Safe Harbor standard at 45 C.F.R. § 164.514(b).

Every row is one appointment. Most EHRs export this directly. The parser auto-detects common column-name variants (e.g., provider / doctor / physician), but the canonical names are below.
